About us
Folk Acoustic & Blues Aylesbury (FAB) meets on the first and third Friday each month, from 7.30pm to 10.30pm. The club is open to all acoustic musicians and singers, playing folk, blues etc. All abilities are welcome.
Some of our sessions are ‘sing-arounds’, where we simply sit in a circle round a few tables and take turns to perform. There is often a chance to play and/or sing together.
We also have ‘feature night’ sessions. On these nights, a guest has been booked to perform a thirty-minute set in each half, but there is still the opportunity for floor spots. We arrange the room slightly differently, with the audience facing the performance area. Our aim is to be able to host feature nights with guest performers every few weeks.
The Venue
FAB now meets at the Fairford Leys Centre, Hampden Square, Aylesbury HP19 7HT. There is parking outside the venue for a few vehicles, but there is always plenty of space in a nearby free car park next to the Co-op. There are good acoustics in the hall, and there is ample seating. The venue does not have a bar, so participants will need to bring their own refreshments, alcoholic or otherwise. We charge a flat rate entrance fee of £5 whether you are a performer or not, and whether it is a sing-around or a feature night.
